Dr. Clay and his staff offer professional comprehensive family and cosmetic dentistry services for the entire family in Hickory, North Carolina. New patients are always welcomed. Emergencies are seen promptly.

A member of the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society, Dr. Clay graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry.

Our Services
If you have dental insurance we require an $85 dollar copay at your first visit to cover any deductible your policy may have if your insurance pays over what is remaining you will receive a refund as soon as insurance pays (usually 3-4 weeks after your appointment). Basic preventative appointments we will file in full to your insurance but for any other treatment appointments (fillings, crowns, root canals, etc.) we require 50% up front and if your insurance pays more then the remaining 50% you will receive a refund. We do accept and file all dental insurances but we are not in network with any insurance companies (this is usually a very small % difference if any at all). Non Insurance patients are required to pay 100% at the time of appointment/treatment.

New Patient Exams
( $248 - $343 with cleaning)

We are ALWAYS happy to welcome new patients! Your first visit will consist of a full exam and x-rays. We will discuss your dental needs and treatment planning. A cleaning can also be scheduled for the same day if you choose.
Adult Periodic Exam and Cleaning
($146(regular)- $171 (harder)
Price can vary depending on the health of the gums/bone and amount of build-up on the teeth. If you need a more detailed cleaning we would let you know at your first appointment and make a plan for treatment.
Child Periodic Exam, Cleaning, & Fluoride Treatment
($158)
This includes a full exam, dental cleaning and fluoride varnish. We recommend that kids have regular fluoride treatments while their teeth are developing to insure healthy enamel and a strong foundation for future dental health.
Emergency Dentistry
If you have a dental emergency we will see you quickly to diagnose your problem and perform treatment. We consider patients who are in pain a top priority!

Fillings
(White $169 - $370 or Silver $145 - $294)
Filling cost is determined by size and location of the cavity. We offer a choice of composite (white) or Amalgam (silver) fillings for back teeth. Front teeth are always done in white.
Crowns, Veneers, & Bridges
($1190 Crown , $1157 Veneer, $3465 3 unit bridge)
We offer traditional porcelain fused to metal restorations or full porcelain restorations. Crowns, veneers, and bridges are used to rebuild weak broken teeth and replace missing teeth. They are also used to improve the cosmetic appearance of your smile. Our labs use the strongest, latest, ceramic materials available to help you on the right track for a strong healthy smile for years to come.
Gold crown's are also available. ($1204)
Extractions
($187 Simple - $485 Full Surgical)
We do require a full exam and x-ray's for new patients looking to have a tooth extracted; this let's us assess your overall dental health and inform you of any other problems or options you may have. Most extraction's are considered a simple extraction, but price can vary depending on surgical steps that may be necessary for a safe, complete, extraction.
Teeth Whitening
(Custom at home trays- $398 full mouth &/or
In-office $550 full mouth)
Whitening trays are made to specifically fit your teeth. This is the most common choice for professional grade whitening. It allows you to continue use at home and maintain your desired results once reached. Each tray comes with 4 syringes of bleaching agent (that is 8 for a full mouth set). Refill packs of bleaching agent are available for $52 each (that is a 4 pack).

In office whitening is a stronger, quicker option for teeth whitening. This is great for people who what noticeably whiter teeth in a short amount of time or for an upcoming special event. The cost listed is per one office visit treatment.

Root Canal Treatment
($785, $920, or $1080)
Price depends on size of tooth and number of canals. We offer same day root canals .
Nightguard or Athletic Mouthguard
($508-Nightguard / $282 Athletic)
Protective mouthguards custom made to protect your teeth from grinding at night or from trauma during athletic activity.
Partial Denture
(Acrylic-$1290, Valplast Flex- $1490, Cast-$1755)
We make partial dentures. Partials are a removable appliance used to replace missing teeth when you still have a few natural teeth for support. There are three different options for materials that will be discussed with you to find what may work best for your needs.
